Sofia is an experienced secondary teacher who values empowering distant aged young people and their families through learning and sports opportunities, as well as networking with social capital.
She identifies needs in the local B.M.E community and successfully seeks routes to address these through team working.
Recently diagnosed as autistic and having ADHD, Sofia is especially passionate about supporting families with neurodivergency. She is part of the Autism Advisory Forum for Inspiring Scotland, working with the government to improve services core of autistic individuals and families. She also uses her experience of racism and Islamophobia in local schools to vocalise the need for change in our education sector. Sofia is an anti-racism activist and aims for a society where true equity prevails.
